We know you are probably here because you are interested in acquiring a puppy, but have you considered a
rescue Dane? There are often wonderful Danes available for adoption - these dogs need a home through no fault
of their own.
Gaining an older Dane instead of a puppy has many benefits - less time toilet training, no destructive adolescent

following page. Anybody who has a bitch that has puppies is a breeder. Not all breeders are the same though and
to the uninitiated it can be confusing to tell them apart - please read the next page for some pointers.
Ethical breeders, such as Saxony Great Danes, urge you not to support puppy farmers and backyard breeders - we
do not do so because we want to be “snobs” or “retain all the demand for pups”. We do this because the dogs at
the non-ethical breeders ultimately pay the price and supporting these non-ethical breeders unfortunately
continues this cycle of exploitation.
